A Journey

(Preface: This poem is inspired by the game Journey, developed by thatgamecompany, it is a very deep game and very cinematic.)

A journey
Whether glittering sands
Or sparkling snow
A journey
Done with fellows
Or
Alone
A journey
In great ancient halls of old
Or resting outside reading the stars as fate foretold
A journey
With the magic of life
Gliding through the air
Just nature
No traffic
No thoroughfare
A journey
It seems that carpet
In a place however far-fetched
Still shouldn't be able to fly
Yet
As a beautifully-fletched arrow
It just glides through the sky
A journey
At some point must always end
The evil creatures at the peak
You must dispel them for the peace you seek
A final peace to keep
Send them back to whence they came
Lest
 You join your slain friend
In a final rest
A journey
A journey to the end

Remembering

Do you remember? I do.

The day I decided to leave my old ways
And you. I left you too.
I was pressured into what
I wanted from someone who wished the same
Is it as painful for you as it was for me?
Is it wrong to miss you from time to time?
If I could rewrite history to when
I was younger and clueless I would
Have left you sooner.
Do you remember?

Maybe you've given up those old habits
I grew to know them so well
Maybe you've grown to accept the faits
I can see you now with that same numb face
Maybe you smile more
I constantly worry I might turn into you
Maybe you call me by a different name as well
Because instead of Dad I now remember you as simple Tim.

Birthdays

Okay, so what's the deal with birthdays? You get rewarded for helping the slow overpopulation of the earth. "Yay! Another human! Let's give it some useless plastic covered in colored paper reading HAPPY BIRTHDAY, shove a bunch of sugar in its face resembling a circle or some sort of super hero, and/or give it money to get what ever they didn't get spoiled enough for." The cakes are so bad for you that it is almost like they are trying to solve the problem of your existence by giving you diabetes and killing you off to slowly reduce the unstoppable force of the world ending from overpopulation. On one of these certain days you can do ANYTHING with one excuse, "It's my birthday", with the exception of any federal offenses. Scenario: you're voting on what to do. The options are:

1. Staying at home and playing games
2. Going to a movie.

Every one wants to stay home, except for you, and you guys see a movie and no one cares because, "It's your birthday".

Did I Ever Tell You The Definition Of Insanity?

(This is a censored version of a quote from the game “Far Cry 3.” The main villain monologues this to you because... I don’t know. Because...
