Resting silently on such a peaceful day
But then suddenly the shelf gave way
Down with a crash
The bowl was smashed
Together this moment was the last they would spend
But neither would say this was finally the end
In their last moments they said their goodbyes
But no one could stop them from closing their eyes

Hello darkness my old friend....
I've come to talk with you again.
The wording really made a somber and mourning feeling. That isn't always the easiest atmosphere to create. Nice descriptive writing.
This reminds me of a song that I am sure everyone in this room has heard at some point. This is the song that Anonymous posted up there that goes like, "Hello Darkness My Old Friend.... I have come to talk with you again." It also reminds me of my Beta fish that died three years ago. I was wondering what your inspiration is for this post, and if you could answer that for me it would be greatly appreciated.
This poem gave me a very suspicious and eiry feeling, I didn't know what to expect. I like how you led it into a creepy path and then you ended with a good sentence saying that whole writing was just about two fish.
I can relate to that with my cousins dog breaking the fish bowl and the fish died.
The part where you wrote "together this moment was the last they would spend, but neither would say this was finally the end" reminded of the movie "Titanic". Rose and Jack spend their last moments together in the water before Jack dies, and that line kind of describes that scene.
This is very funny, and I genuinely enjoyed it. I thought it was going to be about some one in a urn or something.
Micheal O'Coileanin I got inspired by this when I accidentally broke my fish tank.
Oh my wow! When I was reading this I was thinking "how could a shelf kill a human by just falling off the wall?" The I read the last line and I was like " oh... it was a gold fish!"😂
I appreciate how you can take a serious topic, and something that I'm sure was actually really hard for you at the time, and put a humorous spin on it. What a brilliant "twist" ending!
I'm not even sure if it was supposed to be funny, but for some reason it was...
