Do you remember?
I don't.
What was it like?
You and I?
All I could catch was the sand.
Everything is tucked
in the corner of my mind.
The one you can't reach.
I see letters and syllables,
Faces and places,
But none of them fit together.
I may see a scene,
but not the people.
I match them in,
and see what works.
But none of them fit together.
Voices constantly changing,
I try pitches high and low.
But none of them fit together.
Then you...
You filled in the void,
I see all faces,
hear all voices,
and know all the words.
And I remember the day,
you and I,
that we spent on the beach.

I love your poem. I remember how we did this quick write in class. The words you use really convey the message.
I think the line "and know all the words" is perfect and sweet. It's also cool that other students like Jo can read your poem, and recognize it as one of the quick writes we did in class. Maybe some more of you might publish yours? Wouldn't it be cool to see how different (or alike!?) they are?
I love this poem! And the format! You really got the point across in not a ton of words, great job! I have know idea why there isn't more comments!👍
