Remembering

Do you remember? I do.

The day I decided to leave my old ways
And you. I left you too.
I was pressured into what
I wanted from someone who wished the same
Is it as painful for you as it was for me?
Is it wrong to miss you from time to time?
If I could rewrite history to when
I was younger and clueless I would
Have left you sooner.
Do you remember?

Maybe you've given up those old habits
I grew to know them so well
Maybe you've grown to accept the faits
I can see you now with that same numb face
Maybe you smile more
I constantly worry I might turn into you
Maybe you call me by a different name as well
Because instead of Dad I now remember you as simple Tim.

Awwww...... This poem reminds me of a show I watch called heartland. I liked your ending line, it made me sad. Amazing job, keep writing.
