The Flat Earth Rant
Hello, everybody! It's me! The amazing... look, I'm still working on that stage name, but that's not what I'm talking about right now. Today I am writing about.... Flat-earthers! *sigh*, let's begin.
For those of you that are blissfully ignorant people who don't know what a flat-earther is, let me fill
you in. A flat-earther is a person who believes the earth is flat. I don't know why, but they do, anyways,
continue.
Normally, I wouldn't attack someone's opinion like this, but flat-earthers TICK ME OFF! Look, they have little proof to support this moonstruck theory, and the proof they do have, is easily debunked. I go onto YouTube way too much and I watch flat-earth videos when I'm bored, And I saw one that said "There is wool being pulled over your eyes" for the ENTIRE VIDEO, and the "evidence" he did use was clearly faked. If you want to, here is a flat-earther video for you to watch, click this if you want to see a video full of cringe..

I want you to try to debunk a flat-earther by showing them a picture of the real earth from space. No matter what you show them, they'll scream "FAKE!" and shove a burden on you to prove it's not fake.
I don't know what we're arguing about though, they already disproved themselves. They say the sun and moon act like spotlights, right?
So what do you think? Do you agree with them? (Please don't,) if you have an argument, keep it civil, but anyways, thank you for taking time out of your short life to read this, see you later!

My Worst Nightmare Came True.............
Lying in my bed, sleeping, listening to the clock tick constantly on a loop. Slowly I became hypnotized, and faded into a deep sleep. I was running through the streets of Italy, dredged in sweat with my two side braids flowing through the wind behind me. Luckily I was wearing my favorite running shirt, that says 'do more of what makes you happy' and my favorite running pants. Coming to a slow stop as my lungs run out of air. Looking around to see if there were any people around, there wasn't a single soul, for blocks, even miles. I checked a few cottages for people, or water, no one. All the doors were locked, I finally found a open window in the back of a nice white cottage. I slipped my way through the tiny glass window trying to be as quiet as possible. Falling onto a wooden table, I look up after rubbing my head from the fall. Wood cabinets, five to be exact, I check each cabinet until I find a cup. Filling my cup to the rim as I raise the cold glass cup to my chapped, red lips.
A sharp piercing sound flows in to the little cottage through the open window, glass shatters, water soaks me head to toe. It was a little girl screaming for her life. I hopped on the table and slipped out the window, making a lot of noise from fall on the stone road, I look around ready to help. Another scream. I head in the direction of the sound. Nothing, you could have heard a pin drop. After waiting a few minutes I see a clown, then more as they stare at me. Blood was gushing from their mouths onto their red, blue, green and yellow suits, as their red nose stays still. I run as fast as I can taking as many turns as possible, I look behind me every couple of turns, they're running now spilling drops of blood behind them. I run towards the sound of water, I'm dying for water. I stumble upon a beautiful waterfall. I cup my hand and scoop water from the cold waterfall, I raise my shaking hand to my mouth water spilling everywhere. I hear them getting closer. I jump up and start running again, once more taking a turn at every possibility.
I eventually run into a clearing of bright-green tall grass to my knees. I see green groves of bright-yellow half dead aspen trees ahead. I make a run for it. My tennis shoes hit the cold dirt blanketed in yellow, and brown aspen leaves. I run into a bridge that leads to the other side of a huge river. I run upstream, nothing, and downstream, nothing. I need to find another way. I have to cross the old wooden bridge. It only has four ropes to hold it to the other side. As I look back and see the blood-covered clowns running at me through the the grove of aspen trees, I run across the bridge..........................

College Mysteries
It was the year 2022, I just graduated from high school! Finally, me Julie, an adult! Well, I have college to go through, but I am 18, so technically, I am an adult. Oh, and guess what? I got a scholarship to a really good school in California! I want to be a surgeon! I've always wanted be one too. That means a lot of school, so I don't kill anyone. That means I'm not going to see my family for a long time. I'm going to miss them so much! I don't think I'm ready to leave for this long, but it will be totally worth it! And I'm also going to have to make brand new friends, which won't be the easiest thing in the world. But I think I'll manage.
I know this isn't that big a deal, but I feel like telling you about it. Anyway, I have a boyfriend, like I said before, NOT a big deal. His name is Jonnie and we've been friends since 2nd grade, so we are really close. And he is also going to a different school to become an engineer. Which is pretty cool.
Today is the day I'm leaving! Saying goodbye is going to probably the hardest thing I've done in my life! I have two sisters, their names are Anna and Carys, Carys being the younger one at 11, and Anna at 16. Saying goodbye to my family was really difficult for me. Saying goodbye to my parents was the hardest thing ever! I've been with them my whole life, and now I'm leaving them for so long! After saying goodbye, I finally jumped in the car and was on my way to college. The drive was tedious, I feel like it took 2 days to drive 12 hours, when I finally got to a hotel, I was exhausted! I have never driven for that long, non-stop.
When I got into the hotel, it smelled like mothballs! Believe me, it was not a good stench to breath in at all. The beds were like the beds that are folded into couches. And the sheets were really thin, but it was the most I could afford. I slept horribly, and I was on the road again. The rest of the drive was not that bad, I just listened to music and tried to stay awake. When I finally arrived at my dorm room, I looked like a monster. A really tired monster.
The girl I was sharing my dorm room with was named Katy. She seemed really sweet, she was wearing a purple shirt with blue jeans. She also wore glasses that were way to big for her face, but she was really pretty. She was also very perky, every word that came out of her mouth came with excitement, which woke me up a little bit.
When I finally got to school the next day, it looked huge! When I got inside, it looked even bigger. So I had no idea how I was possibly going to make it to class on time. After asking 10 people to direct me to were I was supposed to be, I found my room, 124. It was a room that looked like it held a dark secret, a secret that if it was discovered, something very horrible would happen. The teacher looked at me and smiled a grotesque smile. I just looked away. As I was peering around the room, I saw a difference in the wall, I walked over, and started feeling the wall for any clues.
"Child," the teacher said in a chilling voice, " have you ever heard the story of the black cat, how curiosity kiiilled it?" She hissed.

The Forest
"Turn down the music!" Yelled my mom as I was jamming to my favorite sound track. My life is better with music. It took all the stress that built up from high school away. I turned down the music one notch just to annoy my parents, but it backfired. "Teresa Lee Thompson, come here right now! Turn off the music and bring your homework with you!" When my mom said my name like that, it meant I was in trouble. I went down stairs and my mom just stared at me like moms stare to make you do something. I sat down and started my homework. My calculus problem was working itself out in my head when I got bored of homework. I planned to go to the park with my five friends right then.
When I got to the park, my friends were waiting at the bench by the murky pond. We love to play frisbee, so we took out Lauren's light up disc, and started to play with it. My five friends and I playing frisbee at the park on a beautiful day, was all I wanted to happen. To hear my name being called out as well as calling out my friends names.
Lauren, Dani, Amber, Alex, Connor, and I are the dorks of the school. The popular people are mean and we don't understand why they are so popular. All they do is dab and bottle flip. I don't get it. The names of the three most popular girls at Adams High school are Jessica, Bree, and Taylor. They always give me the stink eye.
The park that we were playing frisbee at, is right by a forest that nobody goes into.
"Teresa!" I heard Lauren scream. I looked over, and her frisbee was about to crash into my face. I ducked just in time, but it flew and tumbled into the forest behind me. The rule was that if you dropped the frisbee or they were passing it to you, you had to get it. So now it was my turn. The forest is the creepiest thing in town.
I summoned all of my courage, and stepped into the forest. Immedialty after I am inside, I feel a chill racing down my back. It was like all noise from the outside world had been blocked, and all I can hear is the echoing chirp of a bird, and a faint hiss. It feels like the jungle. The huge trees towering over me like giants trying to step on me. I heard another noise, but this time it was Dani, "Teresa?" But all I can focus on were these voices, kind of like whispers, that were all in my head. At least I think so. I saw this faint blue light in the near distance, but the sun seemed to be setting faster and faster. I had to hurry. The voices in my head were getting very loud, so I sprinted. I grabbed the frisbee, and ran. Suddenly, I felt a hand grab my leg and I screamed as loud as I could.

Eyes Through the Trees
"Help!" A strange voice shouts from the woods.
Emma perks her ears up and she sprints into the thicket to where she thinks the voice is coming from. Nothing.
"Help!!" The voice screams from the other side of the grove.
Emma dashes there and looks around frantically. She sees nothing, hears nothing, and smells nothing. "Help! Help! Help!" The voice repeats again, this time with more panic raising in it.
Emma hears soft footfalls behind her and quickly spins around. She is face to face with Krane and his knife.

Annador
Huge green eyes snapped open; they were filled with fear. An eighteen-year-old girl lay on a dirt-streaked cement floor. Her coppery brown hair lay in a heap around her face as she stared at the ceiling of the bare room. A large bruise over her left eye clashed with her beautiful, olive complexion.
The room was silent, except for her ragged breathing, as her once beautiful dress rose and fell. Willow, the princess of Annador, now lay in a concrete cell in Ondalisia, with her mother, father, and brothers somewhere nearby by, waiting for what Willow was sure would be a death sentence. Willow glared at the ceiling as she thought of Daniel, the prince of Nurdion, whom she was supposed to marry, before her kingdom was taken and her family held captive god knows where.
Daniel was a tall, handsome boy with brownish, almost black hair, a chiseled face, and a darker shade of skin. Even though it was an arranged marriage, Willow had been excited. She had had a huge crush on him ever since she met him. Willow smiled at the memory.
Willow walked into the bedroom, along with a girl with beautiful red hair and freckles sprinkled over her nose. Laughing, Willow and Liana sat down on a neatly made bed, with soft blankets and fluffy pillows. Smoothing their dresses, the girls continued to talk, laughing and smiling. They talked, until a loud thud resounded from Liana's closet.
"What was that?" Willow asked
"I don't know..." Liana mumbled, pushing her hair behind her ear. Willow stood from the bed, carefully smoothing creases from her beautiful, blue dress. It was short, so she could run, even though her mother disapproved of it. Willow had actually cut off the bottom of the silk dress and sewed the seams. She was so good with a needle, no one could tell that the dress hadn't been made that way. Walking to the closet door, Willow turned to face Liana, her hand on the closet's doorknob.
"May I?" asked Willow. Frowning, Liana nodded. Willow smiled, and opened the closet door. A boy, about her age, maybe older stumbled out of the closet smiling. Willows eyes widened with shock, then smiled sheepishly.
"Hi!" The boy said, smiling. "My name's Daniel."
Smiling, Willow opened eyes to look at the concrete ceiling of her cell once again.
"Get up, girl." A rough voice jerked Willow back to reality. A huge hand jerked Willow up, sending shooting pains up her battered legs and arms. "Come on. It's time to meet the king."

Dishin' & Swishin'
I'm so petrified, I have basketball tryouts in three days. Last year for basketball I was in sixth grade and made the seventh grade team, otherwise known as the B-team. This year I am in seventh grade and I want to make the A-team. I really feel as if I do my best I can make the team, although I am quite nervous.
I have played basketball for many years, and over those many years I have gotten exceptionally good. I love basketball and practice it daily. Everyday I get to the school around 7:00 which gives me lots of time to practice. My whole family plays basketball and my parents are very good, so I get a ton of great advice and inspiration.

Another reason why I would love to make the A-team is because I would be playing with all the kids I have played with my whole life. Although I am very stressed and nervous that I won't make the A-team, and I have a lot of pressure because the eighth graders want me to make the team. But the last few days my dad had been talking to me about not being worried.
Along with being nervous, I am quite confident because I am very athletic and have played for many years. No matter how nervous I am, I'm going to just try my hardest on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. And I'll find out the results of which team I make on Wednesday after tryouts.
The Lost Battle of Cancer
Part 1:
In bed she lies
Overtaken by sleep
She lies in rest and peace
Atop a bed of roses
Goodbye said he
One last wish
A final kiss
Atop a bed of roses
A mother wept
The pain of debt
Atop a bed of roses
Prayers are given
A sorrowful whimper has escaped
She is mourned
But we are not forewarned
Atop a bed of roses
Lost in battle
Gained her wings
Atop a bed of roses
Bravery and strength
Unwavering until the end
Unfairly taken by eternal sleep
It will eventuate again
Atop a bed of roses
In bed she lies
Overtaken by sleep
She lies in rest and peace

Manitou Mountain Monsters
On a brisk Saturday morning, I rode with the Manitou Mountain Monsters club. Jackson D. and I were riding in the front of the group. The wind blew through our hair and beautiful green and yellow bike jerseys. Jackson and I stopped at a tricky technical section to wait for the coaches. Then, a rookie on a sleek, silver, and green bike came flying by trying to ride it like a boss.
Unfortunately he failed.
Unfortunately he failed.
Don't Look
Chapter One:
It was early in the morning of September 2, 2016. Possibly 1:25 in the morning. I woke up, extremely thirsty for water, and walked down to the kitchen. Since the heater wasn't on, it was only about 55 degrees inside. As I tiptoed to the fridge, I heard a slight knock coming from the front door. I went to see who was knocking at this time, but nobody was there. The porch light suddenly turned on, and for the second it was on, I swear I saw a figure.
The light was off, leaving me in disbelief as fear took over my body. I stood there, frightened about what I just saw. Slowly, I walked over to the light switch and my shaky hand reached out to light up the porch. Sure enough, it was there. This time though, it stayed, just standing there as if it was frozen. I saw a bony hand reach out to tap the front door, as if trying to taunt me. My dogs started to bark, but as if the world just went on mute they became silent. The doorknob began to rattle until it clicked open, letting in the imposter. At that moment, I took off like a rabbit being hunted by a wolf. I flew to a hiding place, hoping it wouldn't know.
All of a sudden, I heard laughing, and the light came on. The creature unmasked itself, revealing it was my best, perky friend, Sheila. I was upset and embarrassed at first, but then I began laughing till I cried. My other friend, Tara, came out of the bathroom with a radio that made the sound of dogs barking. Tara, in between her laughs, said, "I can't believe you fell for it! You actually thought a creature was coming in! I'm so happy right now, you don't even know! Don't worry, your parents knew we were doing this. They won't get mad at us."
I was exhausted, so I told my friends they could spend the night (even though it was a Thursday) and we fell straight into a deep sleep.

In a town that shouldn't even be called a town, more like a city, a city so big and boisterous; known for its intimidatingly tall buildings and skyscrapers. These high-rise buildings held more than 100 stories. There are about 150 floors per building.
This city holds a wide range of people. Tourists, businesswomen, stay-at-home dads, and just basic college kids all fill this city. On the streets there are many people either bustling around late for things or just enjoying the city's many great attributes. But just like any city, it had a fault.
The government kept most of the people away from the secret. Keyword MOST. Not everybody was oblivious to this secret though. A sliver of people couldn't help not knowing about it. It was in their blood. They just had to find out. There was no way to not learn about it.
They were forced to absorb the information. It was how they were made to be. They were born to know everybody's secrets, so they hid from all people trying to hurt them. These people have lived all their life concealed from the public. But now they have a reason to come out of hiding.

So we can accomplish great feats
Mine?
A ball at my feet
I can be unstoppable
Blast by people with ease
The joy of glancing back

If anyone tries to stop me
They'll be made a straight-out-fool

I'm stopped there
And can't get through
Only one thought goes through my head
They think that will stop me?
Sliding to the ground
Just getting the ball off my feet
Goalie dives players sigh
As the ball hits the back of the net
Thank you, for a ball at my feet!
As I bolted by them
Straight to the goal
If anyone tries to stop me
They'll be made a straight-out-fool
outside to inside
Right to left
Scissors scissors
Down to the eighteen
I'm stopped there
And can't get through
Only one thought goes through my head
They think that will stop me?
Sliding to the ground
Just getting the ball off my feet

My Cooking Adventure
I walked into the kitchen and yelled, "Mom, I need to make food for language arts." She looked at me with a confused expression. "Can I make eggs?" I asked.
She said, "Sure." I walked over to a drawer and pulled out a pot. I put it on my head and started making Star Wars sounds.
"Pew, pew, zzzzz, zzzz pew, pew, pew." My mom told me to take the pot off my head and wash it right away. I did that, and then I grabbed a pan. I set it on the stove, grabbed two eggs, and then a bowl. I took the first egg and tried to be really cool and crack it like a master chef, but half the egg missed the bowl. My mom looked at me and told me to clean the mess up. After that I cracked the other egg in the bowl and added a big drip of milk. I whisked the eggs up until it looked good enough to drink.
I poured the eggs in the pan and got cooking. I stood there for a couple minutes and nothing happened. There was something wrong. "The stove is out of gas!" I yelled to my mom.
"Maybe it would help if you turned the stove on first," she suggested. I turned the stove on and watched the eggs as they cooked. I moved the eggs around to make sure every piece was just right. I added a touch of salt and a dab of pepper for flavoring. I placed the eggs on the plate then went to the couch to eat them. On my way there, my brother walked up to me and asked if I made him any eggs. I slowly shook my head.
He took the plate out of my hands and walked away, enjoying my master piece.

Food Story
I was thinking of what to cook when I got a glimpse of a crescent moon shape turd that had come from the buttocks of my dog. I then had an epiphany of what to cook up in my kitchen: shrimp.
"SHRIMP! I NEED SHRIMP!" I yelled to my mother. She looked at me, surprised, and ran out of the house. A few minutes later my mom bounded in with a fudge-ton of shrimp. I got straight to work with shelling, and seasoning them with some marvelous spices. I then placed the shrimp into a pan and put the heat to high, after a few minutes I flipped the shrimp and let them sit for a few minutes.
I then served those suckers to my slaves.

The Mist
The mist comes crawling in
Whispers break the silence
The clock bell strikes twelve
Doors lock and shutters close
There is silence and nothing more
A figure in the street
Walks door to door and then
There is nothing more
The sun is rising, eliminating
The bricks and rubble
Cries and shouts
Echo through the streets
But they can not be heard
For death has strut there
And taken them in
Never to see again
The whispers spread to the near by town
Tomorrow night it will be them
To enter deaths home
Fear creeps in through
Every crack and every cranny
the mind has been conquered
But amongst the death
There is a flower creeping up
Sending a message to the world
That there is hope
You just have to believe it to see it
Tomorrow night it will be them
To enter deaths home
Fear creeps in through
Every crack and every cranny
the mind has been conquered
But amongst the death
There is a flower creeping up
Sending a message to the world
That there is hope
You just have to believe it to see it
War
You head to war, less than a half of a mile away.
The intenseness growing in the back of your
mind, but you are serene on the outer side. Your mind
telling you no, but your heart remembering why you
do this, for your family, and the freedom of your country.
You brake into a run straight to a huge wall holding
You brake into a run straight to a huge wall holding
the enemy inside. Arrows flying past your face. Friends
falling left and right, but you still run. Your shrill heart
aching as cold, salty tears run down your dirt covered face.
You're at the wall shooting your arrows as you see the enemy fall.
Fate on the Battlefield
One, two, three, went the beats as Charlie and his solemn friends marched into battle. He was only fourteen and had run away from his home. As he shut his grit-filled eyes he tried his best to imagine what his family was doing at the moment. Anything to take his racing mind off of the inevitable. His mother, Murial, was most likely making dinner for his younger sister, Angeline, as she bickered and complained about her day.
Charlie's father had dishonorably died in the war, and Charlie felt that it was his duty to clear his name. I'll make you proud this time pops, he encouraged himself.A salty tear slid down his cheek, leaving a trail of clear skin on his now darkened face, as he entered the battlefield. He silently crossed his aching heart to his beloved sister. The last time he had seen her as he was slipping out the window into the harsh night, he was told to cross his heart, hope to die, stick a needle in his eye. And that's exactly what he did.
His feet trembled as he awaited his doom. No, don't think like that, he thought. He needed to stay alive for his sister and mother. He wouldn't go like his dad, he just wouldn't. He would prove them all wrong. He had to prove them all wrong.
My Potato Soup Adventure
I stumbled through the door. Racing, I ran to the kitchen because I remembered I had cooking homework in Language Arts. Frantically, I scavenged through the fridge for something to cook. Thankfully I saw some left over potato soup and felt devious. I took out a ladle and scooped out some potato soup. I put a plastic cover over the cold, wholesome, potato soup then put it in the microwave for a minute and thirty seconds. After about thirty seconds, I heard a pop in the microwave.
"Oh dang," I gasped.
I looked in and I saw that the microwave had burnt a hole in the plastic cover. Carelessly, I shrugged and put it back in the microwave and pretended it had never happened. After the time was up, I took the meal out of the microwave. Angrily, I threw away the cover and realized the soup was ugly. I sprinkled some cheese and basil on top and it was as ready as it could ever be. Knowingly, I took a picture of it to post on Canvas and made sure when I took the picture to cover up the uglier parts. Quickly, I turned in the picture and was pretty pleased with the results. I then gorged upon its beauty.
I tasted some of the plastic cover in the soup, but I still ate the whole thing in about a minute.

SCREAM!

SCREAM! Again...
Wait more...
Contemplate how you got stuck in this trench.
Seriously, how are you in a trench?
There's a bridge across. How'd you miss it?
Think about random stuff.
Wait...
Think...
Think more...
And more...
And more...
And more...
Wait for help.
Wait...
Just wait...
SCREAM FOR HELP!!!

Nothing?
Really?

Fall yall🍁🍂🍃
As we drive on the new paved road with my head outside the window, my hair whips behind my head. I feel a pure silence edging on me. It's fall. The leaves are changing their ways as I see leaves whip past my eyes. It's getting dryer as the leaves crush against our feet. The day ends abruptly, summer is losing, fall has won the battle. The animals are running for shelter away from the evil blood-piercing winds that fall brings. The leaves are falling and falling till they hit the fragile ground.

Other Beings
I'm definitely one for conspiracy theories. One that I kind of thought of myself is that what if we are being controlled by some weird type of government over-ruler. With cameras and recorders, but there some type of better and bigger being. Not exactly humans, but close enough, basically just a bigger more enchanted version of humans.
Almost like we're the characters in a video game, they can kind of control us and see what's going on, but in some way we can still control ourselves just a bit, like some type of dystopian themed book. And some people have more self-thoughts than others, they can see more of reality than other people can.
Reading what I'm writing now looks like it probably is a plot for some dystopian-themed book. If you've ever read 1984 by George Orwell you will see a connection to what I'm thinking about and the plot. The only main difference is that in 1984 it's just like the government is watching over them and controlling them by the mind, not literally, what I'm thinking of is more physical rather than mental, and the people just accept what's happening. They think they have control when they really don't.
This is also probably a real conspiracy that people have already made up and written about or done some type of interview on.

🍂Fall🍁
Leaves are slowly changing,
Yellow, orange, red,
Weather starts to cool,
Hats go on our heads.
The clocks they go an hour back,
Less light in the day,
I hope to run and have some fun,
Outside where I play.
Raking leaves is another thing,
Almost like a chore,
But when the wind starts to blow,
I have to do it more,
Pumpkin carving's coming soon,
The faces made to scare,
Halloween's a holiday,
Costumes everywhere.
In conclusion, I like fall,
So much stuff to do,
Celebrate this lovely season,
Maybe you will too! ;)

Video Game Poetry Vol. 1
Destiny is fun
Traveling around the Sun
The Darkness is done
Overwatch tonight
The Shimada brothers cry
Dragons in the night
All throughout the night
Assassins and Templars fight
Pens and hidden blades
Let us play Minecraft
Digging in a dark mineshaft
Lighting a torch
Atlas & Peabody
Testing subjects and buddies
Shooting portal guns
Many mechs fall down
Atlas vs Frontier now
Titanfall ; KAPOW!
Dovakihn shouting
Alduin is in ruins
Daedra artifacts
Gmod is very weird
Why is this happening

Superheroes
Elektra has been my favorite superhero since I was four years old. The second I saw her movie I couldn't pronounce her name. I would always say, "I'm a ninja, just like Shelektra." My siblings would always laugh at me for saying her name that way, but I just stood there, oblivious.
Elektra doesn't only hold sentimental value to me, but also she is an amazing superhero. Her first appearance was in Daredevil #168 in January 1981. The first time Elektra was depicted on the big screen was in a film called Daredevil which came out in 2003. Elektra then managed to get a spinoff film called Elektra (what a surprise) in 2005. Her character was first created and illustrated by Frank Miller to be a love interest for another superhero called Daredevil. Although she doesn't have very many super powers the ones Elektra has consist of controlling her nervous system, seeing into the future a short amount of time, and having training in almost every form of martial arts. Twin sais are Elektras favorite weapon but she has also been seen wielding katanas and even ninja stars.
Even if you aren't a huge superhero fan you still probably have some kind of fiction character that you are connected to. Why don't you think of a fictional character that you have sentimental value with and is pretty powerful. Then, go write about them. I bet you'll discover something new.
