Indent marks

Feet sliced through the air, groans interpreted the practice of weary clarinets, and there
lay three 13 year olds quarreling over a blanket. Brown hair flew into Jamie's face, as
she tore the blanket from Mason’s blistered hands. A snarky grin formed on her lips as
Jamie snuggled the blanket to her face. Jamie's friend, Heidi stood behind her with a
victorious look on her face. They had just won the battle. At least, they would have if
they hadn't been too sucked into basking in their own glory that Mason snatched the
fuzzy article from Jamie's arms. A mischievous glare flashed past his eyes as he silently
challenged the girls to another duel.

Look at you. Your so disgusting. No one wants to be near you. Juniper eyed her pitiful glassy eyes through the mirror. If looks could kill. She clenched her fist underneath her shirt. Juni skewed her eyes shut as stinging tears pushed there way past her thick eyelashes. Sharp, bitten fingernails scratched against her stomach. This wasn't supposed to happen. I used to be pretty, now look at me. Her heart beat ten miles an hour. Thump thump thump. If this was an animated short you could see her shirt moving to the pump of her heart. Her still alive, still beating heart. Well it didn't have to be…

Carter stared at the carpet. That dusty, beaten up carpet. The carpet where he used to spend hours picking up the ‘dusties’ in front of his withered great  grandma. Recalling the memory he stretched his body along the rose patterned scratchy material. Carter breathed in the musk and shut his eyes, running a hand along the short carpet hairs. He remembered laying on the carpet while grown ups talked about grown up things, and plucking the stray carpet pieces. His grandpa used to joke about him taking apart the whole carpet. But he knew what he was doing. It was easy to find actually, all you had to do was search for the softer, taller piece of carpet and give it a yank. Carter smiled at the thought and gave the carpet one last pull “Thank you great grandma..” he mumbled.

That bracelet had always been there. Seven little charms marking distinct points in Alana's life. The ring shaped chain of the item had left small indent marks in her arm whenever she leaned to far on the desk. Alana remembered aunt lu lu saying she would buy her another one after the incident. One charm for the hospital, one for St Patrick's day, one for the day she fractured her pinky finger, and the rest for insignificant memories that don't come to mind. But no matter what, that bracelet was special. At least it was until it swung down the automatic toilet in the new Sprouts grocery store

I like how you used the beggining scene to introduce the characters, then developed each of them in separate paragraphs. This is a unique way of developement, but I like it a lot. Great job!

Wow! This is me speechless. Can I just say your real life references are amazing. Hearing about Spouts, and that cartoon short heartbeat. Very well done. Good job!

Did I Ever Tell You The Definition Of Insanity?

(This is a censored version of a quote from the game “Far Cry 3.” The main villain monologues this to you because... I don’t know. Because...
