Their Salvation

They gathered at my feet
I was their salvation
Their glorious leader
All of their virtues
Mine
They think of me as merciful
But, alas
They are wrong
I would crush them
If not for my country's praise
I am all-knowing
All-seeing
I am not compassionate
Or righteous
They are meek, timid mice
Easy to control
Even easier to take out of the picture

Wow! That's really cool. This is pretty scary. It reminded me of someone taking over the world.

I like how you sort of changed from "their salvation" to their doom. I thought it was awesome how you took some spiritual great poem and turned it into something completely different.

In love the change in veiw points. How the other people veiw this leader as amazing and almighty, but this leader views themself in a different light. It's a beautiful piece of writing. Its amazing how you conveyed this feeling in so few words.
