Mountains

Mountains are mysterious and proud
They stand for endless years
Close to the heavens, but so down to earth
No mountain is more important than its stones

For a Coloradan, mountains are larger than life. This is one of the only states where "Towards the mountains" and "Away from the mountains" are legit directions. This reminds me of Pikes Peak, the ever looming mountain, under which we quiver. What inspired you to write this?

This is such a short poem. Although every line was packed with so much meaning. LOVE THIS!
