That Same Old River

They say that you can never step into the same river twice

But here I stand in that same old river

That some pass by, but never go in

And that same old fishermen who has never seen a fish

The same rush of water around my grounded feet

That same old rock with that same bird that looks at passing twigs never finding the right one

And here I still stand never swayed

I been in many rivers

But this one never let me go

So here I stand never moving from my spot in the river bay

So here I stand

I really love how time stands still in this poem. It sets great imagery.

The wording in this poem brings a sense of serenity. It is so complex yet so simple. I could imagine it very well.

I liked you story. I really liked that you had the same things over and over again.

I enjoyed that the words weren't to overused but not underused. In this poem time seems to stand still.

I love the way you have "shaped" the poem. The words fit perfectly in each line.
