October 8, 2010.
Most children tend to grow up with their lives full of love and laughter. I guess my life started alright, but that all changed at the age of nine when my mother died. You see, I live in a small, quiet town called Rodger's Valley. The town is so boring that the biggest news headline ever was,"Nora Davis, local mom, is having twins." But then the one day something worth writing about happened, and of course it was on my birthday, just my luck. It was October eighth, and I was there in my house playing sheriff with my dad. My mother had just finished putting up decorations when she yelled from the living room," I am going to go to the store to pick up a cake. I'll be back in an hour. I love you, Rebecca", my mother said with such a forgiving smile. Nothing.... I said nothing, no I love you, no see you later. I said nothing. And all because of a stupid fight.
Little did I know these three simple but loving words would be her last.

That's so sad! I liked how you described what Rebecca was doing when her mom left.
