It was a late night, and you knew it would be one, but there was no way of knowing or preparing for what happened in the house at 656 Pine-Park Dr.
You pull up to your little suburban house in your 2004 Saturn and twist the key, making sure not to shine your headlights in the window so you don't wake your wife. You get out of your car and head to the trunk to grab your work case. As you do, the hairs on the back of your neck spring up and send a shiver down your spine.
"It's nothing. There is nothing here," you reassure yourself. You walk up to your door and slide your key in the lock. Opening the door slowly, you reach for the light, but a hand was already there. As soon as you feel it you dart your hand away. You slowly walk your eyes down the wall to the light switch to see nothing. Absolutely nothing was there.
"You're fine," you whisper to yourself, "You're just freaking yourself out." You walk inside your door and put you work case down. You get in your PJ's and hop in bed without turning on a light for the fear that you feel another hand on the switch and just like that you're out cold.
Around 12:34 AM you wake up to a tapping on your window. You look out side to see nothing. When you hear it again you realize it is coming from your mirror. Slowly you crawl out of bed and gradually move towards your mirror, clenching your fists. As you get to the mirror you find the scariest monster looking back at you, but you are not afraid, for you see it every time you look in a mirror. So you crawl back in bed and fall into a world of dreams.
You wake up to a rotting stench in your room. You crinkle your nose and say,
"Honey what did you have for dinner?" When you don't get a response you open your eyes to red on the walls. Your wife, still in bed, but life-less, lay with the stone cold expression on her departed face. You climb out of bed, a sorrow gnawing at your chest. You see written on the wall in her blood: Next time turn on a light!

This is so scary! I wonder what that thing in the mirror was. Was it your reflection? Or something else?

I just screamed at the twist at the end and my dad gave me a very concerned look. Love the slight humor about the mirror. I would love to see a sequel.
Good one! Still creepypasta based, right? A kid at our camping trip told us one similar to this around the fire last night.
It's a bit scary but I like it! Keep up the good work
Yikes! So creepy! But it was also funny -- that part about seeing the scary monster in the mirror, who was you, right? clever, that.
Hey, that's pretty good. I liked the story, and the little joke about the mirror, was the best part.
This story was so creepy and amazing. I didn't really understand the mirror part, but I really loved the story. I really like the part with the dead wife and the writing on the wall.
This is dark. I like it. This resembles some other stories I've heard. Why did you decide to write this.
